Yesteryear Village at the South Florida Fairgrounds is a year-round attraction. An old school, a farm, a blacksmith shop, a general store, and several houses among other buildings; they all make up the historic, fascinating Yesteryear Village park. This is a unique opportunity to chat with town residents and listen to them telling stories of how life was like in the Palm Beaches prior to 1940.

What’s the attraction?
There’s something inside most of us that love a thrill or a nostalgic trip to the past.
Everybody and everything within Yesteryear Village has a story. This village was created to tell the beginning of our city’s story.
The Yesteryear Village was started in 1990, and the Loxahatchee Groves Schoolhouse was the first building that was moved here. When Loxahatchee Groves first opened in 1936, with one teacher and 13 children in grade one through six, the one-room schoolhouse you will see at the village was used to teach younger kids on one side of the room, and older kids on the other side.
This is an example of how interactive and educational for all this place can be.
On display, there’s a variety of original and reproduced buildings, as well as a great collection of old fire engines, tractors, and farm equipment. The village guided tours are offered of the buildings; each of which is furnished in period style, with volunteers acting as townspeople dressed in the proper attire.
