The historic West Palm Beach Golf Course has been in its current location on Parker Ave. since 1947. The course features an 18-hole, par 72 championship Dick Wilson original design, reaching 7002 yards and five sets of tees. This course has been a favorite spot for many golfers for decades including legend Arnold Palmer.
The city’s municipal course is currently not in operation.
The facility is under extensive renovation and once completed, it will feature rolling terrains, elevated greens and tees, a magnificent variety of native vegetation, palm, pine and oak trees. The course will also a full grass driving range, a large practice area, a restaurant and bar with a lovely patio area.
In February, developer American Links signed an agreement to manage a $86 million renovation of the 196-acre course. Plans include the Topgolf franchise, a boutique hotel and a clubhouse next to Interstate 95. Nearly 200 apartments or condos would also be built. No completion date has been set.
Topgolf is a technology-infused, socially-friendly, three-story driving range to be installed in the southwest corner, along I-95. In a recent survey of Topgolf players, the National Golf Foundation found more than half of non-golfers gained interest in playing traditional golf.
