‘Summer in Paradise’ is an annual campaign by the City of West Palm Beach and it consists of a series of events in the downtown area by the Waterfront during the summer season, packed with fun – and free! – things to do for families and everyone visiting.
It is such a great experience that includes dynamic interactive art, exciting community events, waterfront activities, and unique, diverse shopping and dining offers throughout each day of the week, this year, June 6th through August 1st.
So, if you want to have a a S.I.P (Summer in Paradise) by the waterfront this summer, here are some activities you might to consider, even when there are construction works on the 100 and 200 blocks of Clematis street.
The campaign’s theme this year is “iCONE-ic” and you can expect to find a lot of entertainment through a variety of ‘activations’, including many same-day pop-up experiences and surprises. These activities are:
Cone-y Island, daily from June 9 – July 31, is a summer-long maze created out of construction materials where children can play.
Other entertaining activities are Cone Checkers with cones as the checker pieces and the Kid’s Cone Zone, an opportunity for kids to touch and explore trucks and construction vehicles.
SnowCONE Saturdays is a free weekly giveaway for anyone visiting downtown West Palm Beach.
Happening Saturdays from noon to 2 p.m. from June 8 to July 27, you can come down to the waterfront and claim a free small snow cone while supplies last at a location in downtown that is announced weekly on the City’s social media pages. To know the snow cone giveaway location, make sure to follow @westpambch on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
On Thursday nights, Clematis by Night gets extended hours during ‘Summer in Paradise’ events, from 6 pm until 10 pm, with double entertainment featuring two bands each week. CBN has been a favorite Thursday night tradition for more than 20 years in West Palm Beach waterfront Centennial Park where there’s food & drink vendors on the street, live music, and a friendly vibe to chill and relax.
All restaurants in the area around ‘Summer in Paradise’ events are open, many of them offering special deals during summer.
The Clematis Street dining strip has always been regarded as one of the best culinary experiences in West Pam Beach, featuring International cuisine, comfort food and artistic-style restaurants and eateries that can make your trip to downtown a memorable one. Top-rated recommendations near S.I.P. events are E.R. Bradley’s Saloon, Pizza Girls, American Craft Aleworks Restaurant and Taproom, Rocco’s Tacos And Tequila Bar, Lynora’s, Grease Burger Bar, Batch New Southern Kitchen & Tap, and Duffy’s Sports Grill.
